Duane began fly fishing at the age of ten and fueled his passion in the lakes and streams in the mountains of Arizona. He feels fortunate to have fished all over the Rocky Mountain west, with some of his fondest memories being an annual fly fishing trip to Yellowstone with his dad. He moved to Colorado after college to pursue a teaching career. He’s also been chasing Colorado trout for 27 years.
As a retired public school teacher and coach, Duane finds that his passion for fly fishing and his enthusiasm for teaching work collaboratively in taking his clients to new heights when fly fishing. Duane’s low-keyed, patient approach to guiding takes out the stress that beginning anglers can experience, and calmly refreshes the experienced angler. Make no mistake, when you fish with him you will experience first hand the keenness and energy he exudes.
When he’s not guiding, he is usually fishing or bow hunting, and spends more days than he can count on the water each year. His philosophy as a guide is to teach the intricacies of the sport, so others can experience the essence of fly fishing, in the grand outdoors.
Duane is the proud father of Parker and Allie, and has enjoyed over 20 years of marriage to his bride Janet. They reside in Conifer, Colorado.
