This all-new large arbor reel from Sage features a notably larger-diameter spool and arbor for faster line retrieval and consistently smooth drag during battle. The 4600 Series larger size contributes to added rigidity and strength for overall performance. The inner arbor is concave for greater line and backing capacity.
Lightweight and streamlined, the 4600 series has a powerful 3:1 drag ratio that gives it the same performance as a traditional centered disc drag system but in a smaller, lighter drag package. Topped off with a broad palming rim for added control, this one doesn't get by on good looks alone. Features:
The 4600 series features Sage's SCS Micro Cassette drag design, using a compact 3:1 gear ratio
Innovative, larger-diameter spool with concave inner line housing
Grooved frame for securing line when not casting
Ballistic cloth and neoprene reel case
Easy conversion from left-to-right hand retrieve
Colors: Stealth (matte black and Storm (grey)

This is my first Sage reel. I bought a 4660 to mate with a 6wt & 7wt "streamer" rods and stillwater applications primarily. So, line retrieval speed was a key factor. The huge arbor of this reel fits that bill perfectly. Yet, overall the reel is very light, balances on a Sage ONE 6wt perfectly. Drag engages smoothly and the dial access is a nice feature. Overall, I'm very pleased with this reel (and I'm normally an Abel snob).
