The Journey® youth fly fishing outfits are the only outfits designed for youth anglers, by youth anglers. Instead of taking an adult sized outfit and trying to fit it into a youth sized package, we took everything we’ve learned from fishing with our own children and designed the Journey outfits from the ground up. Reduced handle size, a shorter length rod and colorful products are just some of the design features we incorporated into these outfits to ensure success when introducing youth anglers to the sport of fly fishing. These are complete outfits - just tie on a fly and you are ready to fish!

Included with each outfit is a Journey® youth series fly rod. The rod is a 4-piece design with a medium-fast action taper that is smooth, sensitive and precise; making it easy for youth anglers to learn the sport of fly fishing. Each outfit includes a Ross designed Flystart® large arbor disc drag fly reel. The drag is a low maintenance, high performance system that is dependable, smooth and has a wide range of adjustment. The Flystart reel is pre-spooled with premium American made fly line, backing and a 9’ tapered leader. Also included is a custom Cordura rod and reel case to protect your gear when traveling or in storage and an instructional DVD - A Kid's Guide to Fly Fishing, by Tyler Befus.

The Journey youth fly fishing outfits are available in both pink and blue. The outfits are 4wt. designs so they can be fished on most types of water.
