What is a Black Fly Larva?  It is that bug the trout are eating and you cannot figure out what in the hell is going on.  They are abundant in just about every tailwater fishery in the United States and trout love them!!  Super effective here in Colorado in Chesman Canyon, Deckers, Blue River, Williams Fork and Frying Pan.  This has been a guides secret for many years!!!

Amazing fly!!! It made my day in Cheesman this Fall when you could see active trout feeding but they would take nothing I tied on!!! Received this fly in Pat's Fly of the Month Club a while back and put a couple in my box. I searched that day and saw these and said what the hell, I will give it a try and to my amazement they ate it like candy. I will not leave home without half a dozen from now on.
