For Euro Style nymph fishermen, Sage’s ESN rods are extremely effective fishing tools. With longer leaders, there becomes a need for a longer nymphing rod. The added length of the Sage ESN 11' 3 weight offers additional range to increase the stealth factor as well as aid in fishing the long leader French and Spanish methods.

The action on this rod is amazing with an incredibly sensitive tip and a butt section that will handle the largest of fish. Sage included the popular snub nose half wells grip and a mini fighting butt for better balance and comfort while nymphing with an extended arm. Sage also removed the hook keeper so you can comfortably place your index finger on the blank of the rod for increased sensitivity!  Although this may seem strange, it is really comfortable as you do not have to fumble your way around a metal loop all day.

According to Steve Parrott, who assisted Jerry Siem in the design and extensively tested the 11' 3 weight over a 5 month period, states ''this rod is destine to be the ''ultimate'' Euro Nymphing rod with its super sensitive tip and superb fish fighting abilities. If you could own only one rod for fishing the European Nymphing Methods, look no further''.

With the added length of this rod, balance is key!!! At the Blue Quill, we pair this rod with a Sage 4660 reel and our preferred line for all Euro Nymphing is a RIO European Nymphing Line developed exclusively for the Blue Quill Angler by Steve Parrott and John Harder - R&D Engineer at RIO Products. This thin diameter line is one of the most sensitive lines we have used and when combined with Steve Parrott's 18' Ultimate Euro Leader, you have the best possible combination to reduce slack in the system resulting in increased strike detection!!!

About Sage Konnetic Technology:
"Konnetic Technology combines proprietary aerospace-grade materials with innovative manufacturing methods and processes. The impossibly lighter rods built utilising this technology provide ultimate line control and accuracy due to enhanced tip-to-hand sensitivity and feedback, yet still retain Sage's renowned power and durability.

"Konnetic Technology incorporates an optimised ratio of Sage's proprietary resin to carbon fibre with our Advanced Modulus Positioning System (AMPS), a process that places the carbon materials to exacting tolerances for the greatest blank strength and efficient energy transfer throughout the shaft. "Using our High Compression Molding (HCM) process, the blank's carbon fibres are compacted for optimum density and precise alignment, simultaneously fusing the 50% lighter all-carbon fibre inner core."
