14 Day Forecast: Look for good flows and excellent fishing. Anglers can plan on hatches of Tricos, blue-winged olives, midges, pmd’s, caddis, and yellow sallies. The best fishing has been between 7:00 a.m. and noon.
Tips and Other Information: Fishing at the Dream Stream has been good to excellent. Anglers can plan on good hatches of midges, caddis, pale morning duns, and Tricos. Fishing tapers off dramatically mid-day after the Trico hatch. With the higher flows, the Trico (dry fly) fishing has been sporadic, but don’t let that fool you. The trout are eating huge numbers of “drowned” Tricos. A #24 Stalcup’s CDC dead drifted in the water column has been deadly. Between 1 and 5 p.m., fish beetles, hoppers, Rubber Legged Stimulators and ants along the down-wind stream banks. You’ll fool some surprisingly BIG fish. A #20 Mercer’s Micro Mayfly or #20 Bead Head, Flashback, Pheasant in size 20 is a good dropper. San Juan Worms dropped with a #18 Mercury Pheasant Tail or #18 Gold Bead Barr Emerger in the faster riffles will fool a few fish in the afternoon too. Anglers have catching some very nice brown and rainbow trout. There are plenty of “good size” humpback browns in the river too.
