Pat Dorsey's original FLY OF THE MONTH CLUB™ is dedicated to bringing members a great selection of seasonally proven trout flies that our guides have fished extinsively with great success or patterns we have developed to solve a specific problem on the river. We select each pattern to coincide with activiteis on the river during that given month. It may be as simple as a midge pupa, a mayfly nymph or a large attractor dry or streamer that the fish just cannot resist. The fly selection for the month is a fly that we all have fished so we know it works!!!

All of the flies are hand tied on chemically sharpened Tiemco hooks, the best on the market today which ensures that the flies are durable and long lasting!!

Also included each month is a short history of the fly (who created it and what for), fishing instructions and the recipe on how to tie it. ALL members also receive reduced pricing on any additional flies purchased from the Blue Quill Angler. This exclusive member offer is not limited to the fly pattern of the given month, it is for all of the flies we carry in the shop!! Standard trout flies retail for $1.95 per fly, as a FLY OF THE MONTH CLUB™ member, the cost is $1.50 per fly. That is a savings of forty five cents per fly which for some is incentive enough to join the club. Club members will also receive exclusive deals from the Blue Quill Angler each month on products we offer in the shop. The savings alone on some of the offers will almost pay for the membership!!!

Hello Pat & Gang at Blue Quill Angler, A quick note about the fly of month club. I am sending pictures of a great fish from our trip. This fish was caught on Nov 6th, 2006 with the November Fly of the Month (#20 Egan's Black Rainbow Warrior). Here's some advise to anyone who has or is thinking about joining the fly of the month -- "if you want to increase your success on the river, Join the FOM, read the tips on how to fish the fly, grab your flies & head to the river". one note - you should buy the full package instead of the 1/2, because your buddies will soon hit you up for the fly that is catching all the fish. I would like to give some feedback on the July Fly of the Month (orange rubber-legged stimulator). A couple of friends and I took a week long trip to the Taylor River, Spring Creek,The East River, Lake fork of the Gunnison and Hanson Creek. On all the streams and rivers I used the Stimulator that I received as the fly of the month. As it turned out it was the ONLY fly I needed with the exception of an occasional dropper. The best part was that I was the only one in the group that caught fish on ALL the rivers and streams. They do work! Keep up the great selection. M.F. Golden, Colorado
