The Horsefly River holds beautiful, vibrantly colored rainbows that average 18 inches. It is one of the most beautiful free stone rivers that anyone could possibly fish. The river provides a particularly unique habitat – it flows into its own hatchery as new rainbows from the Horsefly Lake follow the salmon and stay. The Horsefly River provides trout with an excellent lifecycle of food – salmon carcasses to feed on in the winter, early hatches and plentiful source of eggs during the salmon spawn. The Horsefly is an exceptional river to float – or to dock and wade fish its deep holes where the larger trout reside.
