Free Saturday Clinics
Free Saturday Clinics
Steve Parrott
Summer (10:00am-12:00noon) Throughout the summer, from April through September, we offer a course every Saturday entitled, “Getting Started in Fly Fishing.” This free two hour seminar is taught by Blue Quill Angler guide Gary Okizaki, or another of our seasoned instructors. This class is designed to wet your appetite for more! If you have any interest in fly fishing, this class is a fantastic way to get started. The instructor will give an over view of what is involved in the wonderful sport of fly fishing covering such things as equipment needed, basic knots, simple fly selection and a casting lesson. This class is a precursor to our 101 and 201 classes where you will enjoy a truly hands on learning experience. Bring your rod and reel if you have one, otherwise, we will be more than happy to let you borrow one of ours!

Free Saturday Clinics are starting Saturday, April 5

Winter (10:00am-12:00noon)
Our free winter clinics are held sporadically, so you'll want to visit Upcoming Events to view the entire schedule. You can expect to see listings for Pat Dorsey’s presentation on “Nymphing Strategies”, Steve Parrott’s “Strategies for Fishing Midges”, Jonathon Keisling’s “Czech Nymphing” and a host of other topics presented to you by one of our senior guides. We also feature book signings by authors John Geirach and A.K. Best. It is hard to think of a better way to spend a winter morning than sipping a warm cup of coffee during a discussion about fly fishing.

TESTIMONIAL
Just a note of graditude.. I attended your "bug class" on March 1, 2003, the free one! It was awesome.... thank you! But what really impressed me was the guides and staff availibility and eagerness to share information and knowledge, I was able to get fly information on what, when, where and how. And for a beginner, what more could ask for. Thanks again, see you soon and often. - D.D.
