Watch the Video on Nymphing Pocket WaterTrout feed predominantly sub-surface. For this reason, there is no other technique comparable to nymphing that will have a greater impact on an angler’s success rate. Blue Quill Angler guide, instructor, and author, Pat Dorsey, has been perfecting the art of nymph fishing for over 25 years. His “office” is the South Platte River and is, without a doubt, one of the best training grounds on which an angler can learn. Nymphing 402 is an opportunity to learn from one of the best; it is a technique that will set you apart from the rest of the fly fishing community.
The course begins with a discussion on proper rigging for tandem nymph fishing as well as the thoughts behind making adjustments. During the discussion, the student learns how to construct a special yarn indicator that provides him with the advantage of easy adjustment and sensitivity to strike detection. The student also learns how to take advantage of moldable soft weight that can perfect the presentation with micro adjustments not available from shot alone.
After the discussion, the class moves to the river where students receive one-on-one instruction from Pat Dorsey plus a wealth of information concerning reading the water, trout behavior, presentation, hook setting, playing, landing and safely releasing fish. Count on this class to take years off your learning curve and place you on the road to very successful nymph fishing!
The class is taught on the private waters of the North Fork Guest Ranch which is hosts to a multitude of powerful trophy trout. Imagine…fishing some of the most productive water in the Rocky Mountains with an award winning guide, instructor and author by your side. Reserve your spot today!
